Dragons power past Borders

Newport Gwent Dragons heaped woe on Borders with 20-8 victory at Netherdale.

In difficult conditions due to rain  the Dragons notched the first try with their forwards laying the platform for Adam Black to power over before Ceri Sweeney added the extras.

Borders rallied on the half hour when Steve Jones chipped through before Nick de Luca pounced and claimed the easy score.

Sweeney added another penalty but the Reivers remained in touch thanks to a peanlty from Calum McRae.

MacRae closed the gap with the first score after the break and the hosts should have extended their score through first hooker Ross Ford before Opeta Palepoi was brought down just short.

There was further woe for the hosts with atry from Kevin Morgan that was converted by Sweeney, who added another penalty before the final whistle.
